I’d make it feel less like a list of requirements and more like an opportunity for someone who genuinely cares about speciality coffee and wants to grow with the business. ☕ We’re Hiring: Head Barista We’re looking for an experienced Head Barista to join Koub and become an important part of our growing business. This isn’t just about making great coffee. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in what they do, understands speciality coffee and is comfortable taking ownership of the bar and helping keep the shop running smoothly. If you love coffee, have high standards and want a role where you can grow with the business and take on more responsibility, we’d love to hear from you. ☕ The Role Current hours: Monday–Wednesday: 8am–2pm Sunday: 9am–2pm As Koub grows, we’re looking to extend our opening hours, including earlier starts around 7am–7:30am, meaning there will be opportunities for more hours. 💷 Pay National Minimum Wage to start, with scope to increase up to £13 per hour as you progress in the role and take on further responsibility. What You’ll Be Doing As Head Barista, you’ll be trusted to help maintain the quality and standards of the shop. Your responsibilities will include: * Dialling in the espresso machine and grinder and maintaining coffee quality throughout the day * Making consistently great speciality coffee * Ordering milk and managing stock levels * Keeping stock and relevant books/records up to date * Maintaining a clean, organised and well-prepared coffee bar * Helping with the day-to-day running of the shop * Taking greater ownership of the shop when required There may also be opportunities to get involved with events and pop-ups as the business grows. What We’re Looking For Speciality coffee experience is essential. You’ll need: * A minimum of 1 year’s experience working with speciality coffee * Confidence dialling in an espresso machine and grinder * A good understanding of espresso extraction and coffee quality * The ability to drive – this is essential for the role * Reliability and excellent timekeeping * The ability to arrive at the shop/prep station 10–15 minutes before your shift * Confidence working independently and taking responsibility * A positive attitude and pride in maintaining high standards 🚀 Opportunity to Progress There’s a genuine opportunity to take on more responsibility and more hours within Koub. I’ll be going on paternity leave in January, so I’m looking for someone who can develop into a position where they’re comfortable taking greater responsibility for running the shop while I’m away. The additional hours and responsibilities for this period can be discussed closer to the time.
